Card terminals

Take chip, tap and swipe payments at the counter. Card terminals are optional; online payments work without them.

1. Turn them on: Administration → Billing → Payment & email setup → Card terminals.
2. Create your registers (e.g. Front Desk) under POS → Setup.
3. Register each terminal under Administration → POS settings → Card terminals (EMV) and pair it with a register:
   • Stripe — enter the pairing code shown on the reader's screen (and your facility address the first time).
   • Constellation — enter the terminal ID Constellation issued for the device.
4. At the POS choose Card on terminal; the amount appears on the terminal for the customer to tap or insert.

• Declined? Choose Try again to send it back to the terminal, or take another method.
• Cancel clears the terminal. If the card was approved a moment before, the payment is recorded instead — money taken is never lost.
• Sandbox: with Stripe test keys, register the code simulated-wpe to get a simulated reader with a Simulate card tap button.
